The Program

The program is designed to experience the people, the culture, the religion, the nature and the country and all projects are in South India. It also gives to participants the possibility to meet other people from all around the world, to live with them and to work actively as a volunteer in projects together with local people and by doing so supporting the social structure in India.

Week 1 – Orientation Week: Arrival in Bangalore and participate in orientation week in this town or antother regional centers. Participants will meet the local people, taste the food and learn about the Indian customs and language. Volunteers will be staying together in shared bedrooms with three meals included.

The Next 2 or 4 Weeks: The volunteer placement and projects will be organized individually, according to the preferences mentioned in your application form. Possible projects are working in schools, social projects, and health or in ecological or construction works.

Requirements

• Age between 18 and 50 years old

• No compulsory vaccination to enter India. Recommende: Diphtheria, Poliomyelitis, Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid

Departure and Duration

The program is between four to 24 weeks and starts every four weeks.

Accommodation

Depending on the placement volunteers can live in host families, a residence or could be placed in one of the regional centres and work on a project near by or at the centre itself. Meals are provided.

Financial Conditions

Included: Transfers upon arrival and to projects sites, administration fees in home country and India, orientation week, food and accommodation, local assistance, support and advice, reports, project information and material , certificate at the end of the Program term

Not included: Airfare, visa fees, travel and Health insurance (mandatory), meals not taken at the accommodation, pocket money
