The Program

The Teach in Thailand program offers excellent cross-cultural opportunities for native English-speaking participants who are approved graduates and/or qualified teachers but it is not necessary to have a degree in education or teaching. The program allows both teachers and students to gain a multi-cultural perspective of the world.

The Schools

• Private and government schools in urban or rural location that provide education at kindergarten, primary, and secondary levels.
• Schools provide a monthly salary to the participants of at least 15,000 Baht (after tax deduction).
• Schools pay legal documentation expenses associated with working in Thailand.
•Schools will provide at least one coordinator to help arrange all details when participants are teaching.
• Schools provide suitable course materials and stationery when it is available.
• Schools that accept a participant on a one year academic contract will provide them with a return ticket to the country of origin upon completion of the contract.

This applies only to participants starting in the May semester.

Accommodation

Schools will provide comfortable furnished accommodation for every participant: a small dormitory, teacher's house, apartment or rented house that usually includes bedroom, bath, sitting room and cooking facilities.

• Good organisation skills, creative flair, imagination, patience and a postive attitude
• Genuine interest in Thailand, cultural exchange and teaching
• Flexible, resourceful and adaptable to new and unfamiliar situations
• Excellent physical and mental health

Start date

It is possible to do the Teach English program for five months or ten months and it can be started in May and Mid-October.

Financial conditions

Included: Placement for 5 or 10 months, local salary, accommodation, transportation from the orientation site to your host institution, 24-hour emergency in-country, legal documentation required to work, return portion of the airfaire if you complete ten months contract, all-inclusive seven day orientation in Bangkok

Not included: Travel insurance, airfares, visa fees
